Rachel Mataira / Waiheke Island (b. 1995)

 

Award-winning photographer living in New Zealand, her work focuses on capturing and preserving our ever changing landscapes through imagery and stories.

 

Her work serves to act as a timestamp to reflect on the natural world in years to come. She believes that when we take care of the environment it will take care of us and is inherently fascinated in the relationship between the human condition and nature.

 

Rachel feels most at peace, inspired and replenished when spending time outdoors, and through her work attempts to promote those same feelings for viewers when they interact with her work.
