Bold red, orange and yellow autumn leaves add a special accent to the region’s dramatic beauty. This image was taken on the road to Mount Cook and was a perfect spot to stop for lunch. The turning leaves aren’t the only brilliant colours of the Mackenzie autumn. When contrasted to the glacial waters, it makes for one of the most spectacular and underrated times to visit the Mackenzie country.
