Located in the depths of the Abel Tasman National Park, Awaroa Beach is relatively remote yet undeniably alluring. Only those walking the Abel Tasman Coastal Track, exploring the coastline by boat or taking a scenic helicopter ride are able to experience Awaroa in all of its beauty. The beach is now managed by the Department of Conservation and was officially adopted into the Abel Tasman National Park in 2016 after many years of private ownership. Not my usual style of images, but I couldn’t help but think how quintessential New Zealand this little Koru shaped sand bed was as I was taking this image.
