Look long enough and the river shows you a creature.
The Dart River / Te Awa Whakatipu flows 60 kilometres from the Southern Alps, partly through Mount Aspiring National Park, into the head of Lake Wakatipu. This aerial photograph was taken in winter. I was fascinated by the braided river, and how the sand makes the perfect shape of a seahorse. A playful Otago fine art print by Rachel Mataira for a child's room, a bathroom or a living room.
